We’re happy to share that Canyon Park, including Boat Ramp 18, and Comal Park, including Boat Ramp 3, will reopen today, July 21, at 10:00 a.m.

After heavy rainfall across the Hill Country, our staff have been working diligently to assess conditions, clear debris, and prepare our parks for visitors. While you may see staff continuing cleanup and maintenance efforts over the coming weeks, our parks are ready to welcome you back.

Water quality testing has been conducted at multiple locations on Canyon Lake, with results confirming that conditions remain well within acceptable standards for contact recreation. As with any natural body of water, visitors should always exercise caution, as currents, submerged debris, bacteria, wildlife waste, and other natural hazards are possible in any natural water body.

Please note that conditions upstream along the Upper Guadalupe River west of Canyon Lake are different. Flow rates remain elevated, and debris removal efforts are ongoing. Nichols Landing remains closed until further notice. Canyon Lake receives incoming water from the Upper Guadalupe River, but the Canyon Dam helps regulate and contain those flows, which is why flooding upstream has not impacted the lower Guadalupe River, including popular areas such as River Road and the Horseshoe stretch.

Thank you for your patience while our team works to prepare the parks. Canyon Lake has officially returned to its conservation pool elevation of 909 feet, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome everyone back to enjoy the rest of the summer.
